With Earth Day just days away, Personal finance website WalletHub conducted the study to showcase the states “doing right by Mother Earth.”
Their analysis of “2017’s Greenest States” examines all 50 states across three key dimensions — environmental quality, eco-friendly behaviors and climate-change contributions — that “speak to the current health of the environment and the environmental impact of residents’ daily habits. Analysts evaluated those dimensions using 20 relevant metrics from water and soil quality to green buildings carbon dioxide emissions per capita, among other eco-friendly behaviors.
Here’s how Alabama ranked:
