The Alabama delegation is paying tribute to Sen. John McCain, a former prisoner of war in Vietnam who served as a U.S. senator from Arizona for more than three decades, who died Saturday at the age of 81.

Below are some of the reactions to his death:

John McCain was a brave American and a true hero – one who honorably served our country for 60 years.  His distinguished presence in the Senate will be missed, and his unwavering commitment to our country will live on in his legacy.
