A “pop-up” TSA Pre✓ enrollment center coming to Birmginham in July and has started taking appointments online.
TSA PreCheck — the boarding-pass designation that allows approved travelers to quickly move through airport security lines with jackets and shoes on, toiletries untouched and laptops to remain in bags — will be available at the Sloss Music & Arts Festival in Birmingham, Ala., July 15-16 from 12:30-8:30 p.m.
Those wishing to enroll must be ticketed for the festival in order to access this special opportunity. Those who enroll in TSA Pre✓® will be provided with a ‘Fast Pass by IdentoGO’ wristband for faster entry into the festival.
Enrollment requires an application, an $85 fee (which covers five years) and in-person appointment, which is offered at only a handful of Bay Area locations.
To enroll, present a government-issued photo ID with proof of U.S. citizenship (i.e. a passport or birth certificate) and complete a 10-minute fingerprinting process along with an $85 fee, which covers five years. Once approved, enrollees will receive a KTN (Known Traveler Number) and gain access to dedicated TSA Pre✓® expedited airport security lines for the five-year period.
