Members of the Alabama Legislature will be in Montgomery this week for legislative orientation ahead of the 2019 session.
During the three-day orientation, spanning Tuesday through Thursday, new and veteran state legislators will get a crash course on how the Legislature operates from committee meetings to parliamentary procedure to how to file a bill, and even rules on ethics.
Between both chambers, new office-holders in both parties represent 42 of the 140 seats.
The 2019 organization sessions begins January 8. The regular legislative session begins March 5.
