Campaign finance reports offer indication of easy path to reelection for Alabama delegation

If the latest round of campaign finance reports are any indication, the incumbent Alabama delegation will be smooth sailing toward victory next November.

While most of the races in the Yellowhammer remain unchallenged, a federal reporting deadline Thursday night shows Alabama politicians’ campaign coffers are filling up and they’re faring well on the fundraising front in their reelection efforts.

Officially filed with the Federal Election Commission the reports disclose funds raised during third fundraising quarter, which ran from July 1 through September 30.

Here’s how the Alabama delegation stacks up:

U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions: won re-election in 2014.

U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby: not yet filed at the time this was published.
