Three Bradley partners named to Benchmark Top 250 Women in Litigation list for 2022

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP announced that partners Leigh Anne Hodge, Lela M. Hollabaugh, and Kimberly B. Martin have been named to Benchmark Litigation’s Top 250 Women in Litigation list for 2022. The published list highlights some of the most distinguished women in litigation and is based on a culmination of research and client feedback. “We are proud of Leigh Anne, Lela, and Kim and congratulate them on their continued recognition as top female litigators,” said Bradley Chairman of the Board and Managing Partner Jonathan M. Skeeters. “Their inclusion on this prestigious list is well deserved.” The women were also recognized by the publication in 2021. Hodge leads Bradley’s Litigation Practice Group and is also a member of the Healthcare Practice Group, representing clients in the healthcare industry in regional and national engagements. Based out of the Birmingham office, Hodge provides counsel regarding product liability litigation, medical malpractice litigation, peer review, and staff privileges matters, administrative hearings before licensure boards, ERISA litigation, Medicare Advantage plan litigation, managed care litigation, insurance disputes, and insurance fraud cases. Hollabaugh is based in the firm’s Nashville office and has served as the lead trial lawyer in more than a dozen jury trials, as well as more than two dozen bench trials, arbitrations, and administrative hearings. She advises leading natural gas pipeline companies and other infrastructure clients on issues involving location, land acquisition, construction, and operations. Ms. Hollabaugh has co-authored an amicus curiae brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in support of the industry’s position in the scope of the Natural Gas Act and the state’s 11th Amendment immunity. Martin focuses on general litigation with an emphasis on medical device and pharmaceutical products liability litigation, as well as white collar matters and False Claims Act litigation. Based in Bradley’s Huntsville office, Martin has represented multi-national pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in litigation matters across the country.

Bradley partner Robert Maddox elected American Bar Foundation Fellow

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that Robert Maddox, a partner in the firm’s Birmingham office, has been elected as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation (ABF). “We congratulate Robert on his acceptance as a Fellow with the prestigious American Bar Foundation,” stated Bradley Birmingham Office Managing Partner Dawn Helms Sharff. “As a nationally recognized practitioner, Robert is well deserving of this honor for his work and leadership at our firm and in the broader legal community.” Maddox is the practice group chair of Bradley’s 90+ attorney Banking & Financial Services Practice Group. In the past decade, he has handled more national/multi-state state attorneys general investigations and related consent judgments than any other attorney in the United States. He also is a regular speaker at national real estate programs, banking, and financial services industry conferences. Maddox is a faculty fellow and teaches real estate law and regulatory compliance for the School of Mortgage Banking. In addition, he taught classes at the University of Alabama School of Law on real estate finance and development and state constitutional law, as well as continues to teach classes on consumer finance and enforcement, real property finance and security, and corporate governance as an adjunct professor at the Cumberland School of Law. Personnel Note: Paige Boshell earns elite privacy certificates

Paige Boshell has earned four elite certifications in privacy policy from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Boshell, a partner in the Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP Birmingham, Ala. office, acts as team leader for the firm’s Cyber Security and Privacy team, as well as leading the Digital Services and Electronic Contracting Team and Cybersecurity and Financial Privacy Team. Boshell’s new certifications include: Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US), which certifies her as having an understanding of privacy and data protection laws within the U.S. Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E), certifies her as having an understanding of privacy and data laws in Europe. Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), certifies her as being able to establish, maintain and manage a privacy program throughout it’s lifecycle. Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), signifies Boshell as having demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of privacy laws, data protection and privacy program management. According to the firm, Boshell councils “financial institutions, creditors, and their service providers regarding a variety of federal and state regulatory issues related to all aspects of their operations. She regularly advises financial institutions regarding the delivery of commercial and consumer products and services through traditional channels and via the Internet and mobile devices. She has broad experience negotiating vendor and outsourcing contracts for various clients, and advises clients on information security protection, data breach response, and cyber-risk management.”

Personnel note: Bradley welcomes 8 new Birmingham associates

Birmingham-based Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP on Wednesday announced the addition of 24 new attorneys joining the firm as associates — eight in its Birmingham office. “We are thrilled to welcome this diverse group of attorneys to contribute to the successes of our clients across all of Bradley’s offices,” said Bradley Chairman of the Board and Managing Partner Beau Grenier. “We look forward to benefitting from their fresh thinking and to fostering their ongoing development and achievements.” Including the new associates, the firm has added 35 attorneys in 2017, for a current firm-wide total of 533 attorneys. She earned her Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude) from Wake Forest University. Niya T. McCray is a member of the Litigation Practice Group. She previously served as an intern with Bradley and with the in-house legal departments of Bridgestone and USAA. She received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School (VLS). During law school, she assisted veterans with their legal needs through the VLS Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic. With more than 20 years of experience in external affairs, public policy, reputation management and stakeholder engagement, Paul Kavinoky has joined Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP‘s Birmingham and Washington, D.C. offices as a Senior Advisor for Government Affairs & Economic Development. “The firm is thrilled to welcome Paul to our Birmingham and Washington, D.C. offices,” said Bradley Chairman of the Board and Managing Partner Beau Grenier. “His background and Hill experience are a valuable addition for our clients looking to achieve their legal and business objectives through economic development initiatives and often-complex interactions with government branches, entities and officials.” Kavinoky most recently served as Chief Advisor for Rio Tinto in Washington, D.C., leading the global mining company’s U.S. government and external affairs strategy. He has extensive experience refining key policy objectives, implementing legislative strategy and managing communication strategies. In addition, he has developed valuable experience working with domestic and international executives, government and nongovernment stakeholders and key Congressional committee members. Before that Kavinoky served as Senior Managing Director for global law firm Dentons, as Legislative Director for the office of former Washington-Republican U.S. Rep. George Nethercutt, and as Deputy Chief of Staff for former California-Republican U.S. Rep. and former House Resources Committee Chairman Richard Pombo. Kavinoky earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the Pacific.
