Passing “a real school choice bill” and marathon training make Will Ainsworth’s New Year’s Resolution List

Will Ainsworth is heading into 2024 with five clearly stated goals. In a list posted on his Facebook page and X (Formally Twitter) page, Ainsworth lays out four professional and one personal resolution for the coming year.

Two of the resolutions are specific to goals that the Alabama legislature would need to address in the upcoming session, including “Passing a real school choice bill,” and “Pass legislation capping property tax increases resulting from annual reappraisals.” His third resolution is broad, stating “Fight woke policies and initiatives pushed by extremist liberal groups that oppose our conservative Alabama values.”

Ainsworth’s fourth resolution is, “Continue advancing my office’s successes in improving Alabama’s workforce development programs and making our state the nation’s most welcoming for active military personnel, their dependents, and veterans.”

His fifth goal was his only personal one, “Start a daily running and training program so I can compete in a marathon.”

In an earlier New Year’s Day post, Ainsworth said, “Happy New Year, Alabama. I’m confident 2024 will be our best year yet as we continue working hard to make Alabama an even better place to live, work, worship, and raise a family. May God continue to bless each of you in 2024.”
