The Alabama Board of Education has canceled its Wednesday meeting where board members were scheduled to discuss State Superintendent Michael Sentance‘s contract after board members gave him a low marks during a performance review.
The Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) announced Tuesday the specially called meeting was cancelled.
Instead the board will hold a work session on Wednesday, which board Vice-President Stephanie Bell said will focus on the state budget and compliance with the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
