On Monday, Alabama Department of Labor Secretary Fitzgerald Washington announced that Don Harrison was being assigned the role of general counsel for the Department.
“Effective immediately, Don Harrison is being named General Counsel and will transition to the Legal Division to take the place of Joey Ammons,” Washington wrote. “He will continue to serve as Deputy Secretary in this new role. I am confident that Don will provide great leadership to our Legal Division and the Department as a whole.”
The Alabama Department of Labor connects Alabama employers with workers. It also administers the federal unemployment payments program, as well as job training programs and it oversees abandoned and reclaimed mine lands in the state.
